Promotion of the use of Internet in Rural Areas
Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce: Avanza Plan
Instituto Tecnológico y de Energías Renovables (ITER)
Dinatic is a project that aims to promote the use of the Internet in rural areas, especially by those people who go to telecentres in the island of Tenerife, as well as for the evaluation of the impact that these technologies have in the access to the e-administration.
The goal is to spread the use of the ICT as an approach platform between the society and the local administrations of Tenerife and as a socioeconomic development tool, but not only to introduce the existing digital services and analyse the good practices but also to detect associations with more integration problems or with specific needs and the corresponding specific actions to reduce the digital gap.
The activity "Internet Against Climate Change" in collaboration with the Insular Network of Centres for Public Access to Internet and the Tenerife Energy Agency, was organized within the frame of the project. This activity was part of the actions carried out because of the World Day of the Internet and consisted of a questionnaire that evaluated the user's knowledge about environmental and energy saving issues, providing the information needed to complete the mentioned questionnaire.
Within this project there was also an attracting campaign for volunteers who would act as the evaluators of e-administration websites. The fill-in sheet for all who's interested in participating was available in the project's website.
