Abstract
ITER has reached an agreement with the Cabildo de Tenerife to develop and coordinate Tenerife Local website, oriented to provide web presence and e-administration capabilities to the different municipalities of the island. This project lies within the framework of the PMC, a Plan for the Modernization of the Municipalities of the Island.
The different webs will be created by means of a content management tool developed by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), an open source tool that has been made available to all the Local Authorities of Spain. This tool is called PISTA Administración Local and is was designed to help the small and medium Local Entities have access to the e-administration without an economic cost, transferring this way resources that, otherwise would not be able to offer.
To achieve this goal, the Supramunicipal Entities (Commonwealths, Deputations) need to participate now that they will offer the accommodation services (and, in times, other services) to the Local Entities. ITER has signed a collaboration agreement with the Cabildo de Tenerife, that establishes the conditions for the creation of an internet portal, at an insular level, Tenerife Local, that will set the basis for the development of the PISTA Administración Local tool in the island and the creation of the different internet municipality portals that will later attach to the project. This agreement establishes in the frame of the Continuous Modernization Plan of the municipalities of Tenerife.
